Metrowest Electrical and Communications commenced operations as a partnership on 27 November 1995 and the founding partners Clay Dawson, James Robinson and Vin Ryan continue in their stewardship responsibilities as directors of the business today. Over the years, Metrowest has steadily increased its presence in the construction industry, extending into commercial building on 26 May 1998 with the establishment of a private company which now operates as Metrowest Constructions Pty Ltd.
The Metrowest Group trading name was registered on 22 July 2000 as a means of recognising Metrowest businesses in the collective. Whilst there is no parent/subsidiary relationship between the constituent businesses and Metrowest Group, the group trading name reflects the strength of Metrowest’s endeavours.
A fourth Director, Peter Robinson, joined the group in 2002. All Directors play an active role in the daily running of the Metrowest Group of businesses.
On 1 July 2007, the substantive business of the Metrowest Electrical & Communications partnership was sold to a newly established private company named Metrowest Electrical & Communications Pty Ltd, with the shareholders being Clay Dawson, James Robinson, Peter Robinson and Vin Ryan.
Metrowest Power Systems Pty Ltd commenced operating on 8 April 2010 as a provider of high-end critical UPS power systems for use in critical care environments.
Metrowest Service Pty Ltd was established on 14 Jul 2014 as a specialist routine and preventative maintenance business born out of the service business units of Metrowest Power Systems Pty Ltd and Metrowest Electrical & Communications Pty Ltd.
